The theme is interesting. You control a frog, or, more accurately, the tongue of a frog, and your goal is to catch flies. During each level, a group of flies will appear, and you'll have a time limit in which to catch a certain number of flies. To do this, you click at where you want to aim, and your tongue will shoot out and catch the flies around it. The game plays somewhat like Missile Command, but unlike the straight-moving missiles, the flies will buzz around erratically, so it's harder to figure out where to 'lead' your tongue.

As you progress through the levels, wasps will appear in slowly increasing numbers. Accidentally catching a wasp instead of a fly will immobilise your tongue for a few precious seconds. But you'll have some help on your side. Occasionally, bubbles will rise from the surrounding pond, containing either points or time bonuses. Powerups that improve your tongue speed, length, and general effectiveness appear in the guise of colourful butterflies, which you must catch. There's also a 'wildcard' butterfly, whose effects range from causing indigestion and the subsequent burping out of all the flies you have captured, to beating the level instantaneously.

The pleasant, colorful graphics and non-violent gameplay will appeal to kids, but Bzzz! is a great game for older gamers as well, certainly a nice diversion from heavier action games.
